Homemade Pizza Dough
I’ve been teasing you on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter with pictures of my experiments with homemade pizza dough for a while now. Active dry yeast, fresh yeast, soft crust, tinkering wit
  1. Grease a large glass bowl with olive oil and set aside.
  2. In another large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt sugar. Sprinkle the instant yeast over this mixture and gently whisk it just briefly.
  3. Pour the warm water over the dry ingredients bring the dough together either with your hands or a wooden spoon. (If you find the dough too dry, add more water, a tiny bit at a time. If it’s too wet, then add a bit more flour.)
  4. Pre-heat the oven to 100 degrees Celsius for 5 minutes generously flour a counter (or any surface you’re comfortable with) with flour.
  5. While the oven is pre-heating, turn the craggy-looking dough on to the floured surface knead the dough for 5 minutes. At the end of the 5 minutes, switch off the oven and place the kneaded dough in the greased bowl cover tightly with plastic wrap. Place this bowl in the warm oven for 30 minutes.
  6. At the end of 30 minutes, uncover the bowl divide the dough into two balls. Each ball of dough can be rolled into a thin-crust, 12-inch pizza base.
